In a record shop you start with a sleeve in your hands, not a perfect title and catalogue number. DISCTALE begins with what the camera can see, preserves uncertainty, and only claims a match when the evidence supports it.

Use the cover, scan the barcode, or frame the centre label. The app keeps every recognition mode close to the thumb.

Confirm the evidence
Candidates include source and confidence cues. Ambiguous results stay ambiguous instead of becoming invented certainty.

Listen and keep digging
Open the user's Apple Music catalog when possible, then fall back safely. Save the find to the current Crate and Discogs collection.
What is working now
The v0.4.0 handbook documents recognition, listening, saved sessions, Crate, Taste, and Discogs in an advanced alpha. Availability remains subject to internal testing.

The dated handbook describes an operational staging environment and an internally installed build. Recognition, listening, Discogs, and session memory are present; this is not evidence of public app or API availability.
Recognition still needs calibration and representative field testing. AI-assisted recognition requires confirmation, Dig Places is experimental, and a public app release still has separate validation gates. No recognition-success percentage is published here without a traceable test record.
Native where the experience needs it
The current app is built for iOS, with Rust handling portable domain logic and evidence-heavy recognition flows. Music and collection integrations remain explicit adapters rather than hidden magic.
